Goals and Initiatives of the Texas Arrhythmia Institute
The major goal of the Texas Arrhythmia Institute is to raise awareness of cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. We have established goals and developed initiatives to combat this issue in the areas of Education and Training and of Community Service
Major steps in treating sudden cardiac death are the availability of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) and the knowledge of bystanders to know what to do. Some of the activities in which the Texas Arrhythmia Institute is involved to pursue its mission are:
Annual Save A Life Community Heart Training Day
Training in CPR and AED results in certification of participantsCPR and AED training for the deaf and hard of hearing
Allows an underserved community to be reached.AED implementation consulting service
Provides assistance to community groups and business organizations who wish to acquire an AED
Our website www.txai.org is a major resource for communication, information and education.
The establishment of the Dr. Antonio Pacifico Fellowship in Electrophysiology at the Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center provides a wonderful opportunity for medical professionals.
